PL/365 getting caught up

I seem to say that a lot - always seem to be behind but it's all good.

I have switched to the Simple Stories 2"x 2" size page protectors and I seem to be able to get it done a lot quicker and hopefully won't need 10 albums to hold all one year.

I used the new Shimelle collection from American Crafts - so fun.

Our trip to Oregon was awesome we had a great time.

This week was spent preparing for Aladdin, my son played Aladdin in a local production and we planned a big cast party for after the shows.

My oldest has his first job, he got his referee certificate for soccer and will be reffing this season - so proud of him.

Like everyone else we were tagged to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Lots of great memories which is why I do this!

It's a Zombie Apocalypse...

I hope you can join us next weekend,  October 24 - 26th, on the Scrapbook Nerd Forum and see if you can survive the Scrapbook Nerd Zombie Apocolypse.  The online crop will run for three days of fun challenges, games and prizes!
Here's a few Zombie survival rules to give you a head start...

I can't wait to see if I survive!

Whstler Mini

One of my favorite things is when my pretty paper and embellishments come in pretty packaging I can't resist using it.  When I got the Crate Paper Notes and Things collection from Scrapbook Nerd I saw that all the embellishment packages had this really pretty clipboard design on it.  I knew I really had to use it for a mini so I did.

I used a full one for the base of my mini album and then cut out the binder clip from another one and used foam tape to pop it up.
Then I cut some papers down to the size of the clipboard and started decorating.

This collection is so pretty - for my cover I added a photo of my son on the Whistler statue and some chipboard banners along with some gold letters for my title.

For the inside pages I added an Instagram photo along with a cluster of three embellishments and I cut up the words from another of the patterned papers.

I tried to stay consistent with the design which makes the mini albums come together faster.

These photos are from a trip to Whistler for a dance competition.

My son hurt himself that weekend and every time I look at these photos of him I am so proud he made it through the weekend even getting first place for his Musical Theatre routine.

I have to say making mini albums makes me so happy.

Scrapbook Nerd October Cut Files

I love the new October cut files from Scrapbook Nerd.  Perfect for any Halloween projects.
I decided to make some cute treat bags for my son's class.

I cut the images from black paper and then put pops of Halloween colors behind the cut outs.

To finish off the bags I filled them with treats and tied them with twine.

To create the little spider I used a circle punch and cut two circles, I added some DMC floss between the circles and then added the googly eyes.

I am super excited for Halloween it's always on of my favorite holidays.

A fun background for cards

After creating some fun layouts this month I ended up with a whole bunch of strips of paper with hearts punched out and decided to use them to create a fun background for some cards.

I layered the strips of paper with the hearts on top of each other so the colors showed through the heart shapes.

Since the background was so busy I kept the sentiment simple layering it on cardstock and hand stitching around it.

To finish it off I added a fun cork heart.
