Easy Cards

I always try and use up my stash to make cards and using the MAMBI Cards in an Instant pad made making these cards even easier.

For my first card I used the MAMBI Pocket Pages journaling cards and layered a 4x6 and 3x4 card. For embellishments I added 3 Epiphany Crafts Button Round 25 in coordinating colors.

For my second card I used the MAMBI puffy frame stickers and filled two of them with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool 25.

For the last card I used the MAMBI Pocket Page 4x6 card and added the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Star 25.

Embellished Envelopes

Here in BC our teachers are on strike so no back to school for us, yet, but the other extracurricular activities are on as usual so I made some fun back to dance and singing gifts for my son's instructors.

I used the Crate Paper Notes and Things and my Silhouette to create the envelope and embellished them with lots of die cuts, and tags.

I hand cut the butterflies from patterned paper and used some old clothes pins to keep the envelopes closed.

I added the coordinating back side of the paper to the top flap and a strip along the bottom.

Then I just added layers and layers of paper, die cuts, sequins, punches etc.

I am going to fill these with some homemade cookies for them.

More of Linden's Porfolio

My favorite routine from this year was Company Musical Theatre - Nicest Kids in Town.  I loved Linden's Corny Collins!

The costumes were great and he loved performing this one.

For Stage they did a song from Wreck it Ralph and Linden was the arcade nerd.  He was perfect for the roll :)

He loved having other boys in this class with him.  Usually he is the only one.  He also loved his huge prop that his teacher Courtney made for him - a big arcade machine.

He also took voice lessons this year and did Footloose for the year end recital. It was awesome.

We came up with the idea to throw balloons at the audience to make it more fun.  Everyone said he stole the show.

Well that's it for last year - finished just in time to start a new year :)

Fall Is In the Air

This month Scrapbook Nerd and The Cut Shoppe have teamed together for some awesome exclusive cut files.  The first set is called Fall is in the Air and has some great leaf patterns and titles.

I used the Fall is in the Air as my title and cut leaves from 2 papers from a 6x6 paper pad to create a simple layout. I took the picture I used at the end of August and I couldn't believe how many colorful leaves I found.  I guess fall really is in the air.

I hand stitched around the paper and on two of the leaves.

I used the new Crate Paper Notes and Things collection for this layout as I don't have any fall themed papers in my collection.

I love these new cut files and I can't wait to use the triangles in my Project Life soon :)

Watercolor Fun

For my Scrapbook Nerd technique week I decided to try my hand at some watercolor techniques I have seen in videos and make some PL 3x4 journaling cards.

I tried 2 different ways. The first was using Gelato's.

I rubbed the Gelatos over the paper and then added water and used my fingers to rub it in.

You could also use a brush but I found my fingers easier.  I wanted an ombre effect so I started heavy and lightened it up as I went down the paper.

Then to finish it off I added a sticker from the Crate Paper Notes and Things collection.

For the second attempt I used an old set of watercolor paints that were my sons.

I did the same ombre technique and started heavier at the top then added more water to the color as I moved down the paper.

I really love this look and it was really easy to do.

I think this one is my favorite.
